Define the incoming container condition

New containers can arrive bagged, nested, bulk packed or exposed during manual handling. A rinse step cannot compensate for uncontrolled storage or handling elsewhere in the process.

Some rinsing systems invert containers so loosened material or liquid can leave through the opening. The bottle must tolerate the chosen grip, rotation and return motion without deformation, scuffing or loss of orientation. Unstable, flexible or unusual formats may need dedicated handling or a different process.

After rinsing, the transfer should minimise the distance and exposure before filling. Where liquid is used, the line must provide sufficient drainage and define whether any retained amount is acceptable. Controls should prevent an unrinsed container from bypassing the process unnoticed.
